In memory of Linda, who is able to breathe now, and fly…
Linda Jane Milenkovic, 64, passed away peacefully at her home in Eastport, ME, on May 10, 2011 with her husband, Heinz, at her side. Linda was born in Geneva, NY on Sept 26, 1946, to Robert and Irene (Willard) McDole. Heinz and Linda were married on Aug 7, 1971 in Wheaton, IL.
For over 30 years Linda enjoyed raising and breeding Malamutes for show and weight pulling competitions. Her love for the dogs was great, keeping one little guy, Halen, right up until her final days.
Linda served on the Board of Directors at the Eastport Art Center; the There’s Hope in Washington County conference, which addressed the needs of cancer patients in the Washington County area and she was also involved in the creation of a cancer action group in Machias, ME, that assists cancer patients in rural areas with access to care. Linda also worked as a Hospice volunteer for Downeast Hospice for four years.
Linda was predeceased by her father, Robert McDole and her daughter, Megan Milenkovic. Surviving are her loving husband of almost 40 years, Heinz Milenkovic; mother, Irene; son, Matthew Clark and his wife Sydney; sister, Patricia and her husband Michael and a close family friend, Gail.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Heinz and Linda’s 40th wedding anniversary, Aug 7, 2011 in Eastport.
